Autism Assessment
A full autism cognitive diagnostic assessment
Will take 2-3 days of assessment work/contact.
The elements to be considered are as follows:
1. Pre-assessment questionnaire for the individual to report their own history, strengths, challenges.
2. Interview with GP or other connected health professionals.
3. Interview with parents/carers/guardians to establish childhood history.
4. Use of cognitive assessment testing tools with the individual.
5. Use of autism specific testing tools, e.g., ADIR and/or ADOS, with the individual.
6. Interview with the individual to delve into history and testing results.
7. Clinical supervision/sign off reports.
The entire process requires two chartered psychologists, one for delivery and one for observation. Steps 4, 5 & 6 are all recorded and reviewed post testing.
Diagnosis can only be agreed by both psychologists and signed off by the clinical lead.
Depending on the individual's engagement and the supervision of reports, it is expected that the full cognitive diagnostic report will be completed within 1 month.
